Once he arrives in the romantic heart of Venice, the young Austrian Julius Grünwald falls in love with the daughter of Mr. Bauer, respected Director at the Hotel de la Ville, asking for her hand in marriage. The deep bond of love soon gives birth to a business partnership, crowned by the opening of the prestigious BAUER-Grunwald Hotel.
After the purchase of the entire property, the resourceful Mr. Bennati, successful Ligurian shipbuilder with a keen nose for real estate and a passion for the hospitality industry, breathes new life into the BAUER Hotel. The restoration of the original Gothic-byzantine façade, the structural expansion on Campo San Moisè and, above all, the opening of the 7th floor terrace “Settimo Cielo” (Seventh Heaven), still the highest in the city, make the BAUER the most exclusive and modern hotel in Venice.
