From the United States to the Azores

From the United States of America there are direct flights from Boston to Azores (USA), but if you don’t live nearby any of those cities it’s totally fine. Just get on a plane to Lisbon - Portugal’s capital - or Porto, and in a short 2 hours flight you’ll be in São Miguel Island. 

Boston to São Miguel Island, Azores (BOS-PDL)

The regular direct flight operation from Boston to Ponta Delgada in São Miguel Island is operated by Azores Airlines and TAP Air Portugal (estimated flight duration: approx. 5h).

Boston to Terceira Island, Azores (BOS-TER)

The regular direct flight operation from Boston to Terceira Island is also operated by Azores Airlines (estimated flight duration: approx. 4h). Azores Getaways offers special travel deals to Terceira Island during its winter operation. From Canada to the Azores

From Canada, there are several direct flights from Toronto (YYZ) or Montreal (YUL) to the Azores. If you don't live nearby to any of these cities, you can easily have a connecting flight from your city to these two major hubs.

Toronto to São Miguel Island, Azores (YYZ - PDL)

Direct flights from Toronto to Ponta Delgada in São Miguel Island are operated exclusively by Azores Airlines at the moment. 

Also, TAP Air Portugal has announced that they plan to launch in the Summer of 2021. a two-time weekly direct flight between Toronto and Ponta Delgada.

Toronto to Terceira Island, Azores (YYZ-TER)

This weekly direct flight from Toronto to Terceira Island is also operated by Azores Airlines. Azores Getaways' special operation to Terceira Island during winter also includes departures from Toronto. 

Montreal to São Miguel Island, Azores (YUL - PDL)

Direct flights from Montreal to Ponta Delgada in São Miguel Island are operated exclusively by Azores Airlines. This operation is planned to start on June 2021 with 2 flights per week.

No matter where you are you can easily reach out to Lisbon through a direct flight and then flight to one of the major Azores Islands’ - São Miguel or Terceira. You can fly  directly to Lisbon from the following North American airports: Toronto, Montreal, Chicago, Miami, New Jersey, New York, San Francisco and  Washington; and to  Porto from Toronto. With all of those other flights available what’s your excuse not to come to the Azores? 

From Europe to the Azores

If you’re in Europe there are direct flights to Ponta Delgada in São Miguel Island or to Terceira Island from:  Porto, Lisbon, Faro and Funchal in Portugal; London Stansted, Amsterdam, Brussels and Dusseldorf; flights to Lisbon and Porto are common in the majority of Europe international airports so you won’t have troubles finding one.

TUI’s seasonal 2021 operation includes 2 flights a week from Brussels to São Miguel Island from April to September.

Amsterdam to São Miguel Island, Azores (AMS-PDL)

TUI’s seasonal 2021 operation will also include 2 flights a week from May to September to São Miguel Island in the Azores. 

Amsterdam to Terceira Island, Azores (AMS-TER)

From May to September 2021 it will be possible to fly directly from Amsterdam to Terceira Island in the Azores with TUI. 

Frankfurt to São Miguel Island, Azores (FRA-PDL)

Here’s what you can expect from direct flights from Frankfurt to São Miguel Island in the Azores for 2021: Ryanair at your service with a weekly flight from April to October, Azores Airlines from June to August, and Lufthansa from May to October.

Genova to São Miguel Island, Azores (GVA-PDL)

Swiss is operating a weekly flight to Ponta Delgada airport in São Miguel Island from June to August 2021.

For 2021 Ryanair is flying weekly to São Miguel Island in the Azores from April to October, Azores Airlines is operating flights 3 times a week from June to September.
