Taste the Azores: São Miguel Food & Wine Tour

This Azores Getaways package includes round-trip flights, 7 nights at a hotel on São Miguel, transfers and 7 experiences built around Azorean food and nature, with daily breakfast and an expert trip manager to help before and during the trip.

Yes, round-trip flights are included. The package price varies depending on your departure airport. Other departure cities are available on request. Contact the Azores Getaways team before booking to discuss departure options. Checked luggage is not always included and depends on the airline and fare type. Confirm what is included and add luggage during the booking process. Seat selection and cabin class upgrades can be arranged as paid add-ons, subject to availability.

The package includes 7 experiences: a Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo tour, a Furnas night thermal bath and dinner, the Traditions and Flavors of São Miguel tour, a wine tasting and dinner at Herdade do Ananás, a whale watching experience, a Ponta Delgada food tour and a farewell fado dinner. The schedule for each one is confirmed with your booking.

Group sizes depend on the experience. Hotel pick-up and drop-off in Ponta Delgada are included for the Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo tour (up to 8 people), the Furnas night thermal bath (up to 15) and the Traditions and Flavors tour (up to 8). For the wine tasting and dinner at Herdade do Ananás (up to 30), a round-trip transfer from your hotel is included. The whale watching (up to 50), the Ponta Delgada food tour (up to 15) and the fado dinner (up to 55) start from a meeting point in Ponta Delgada, a short walk from downtown hotels. The exact addresses are in your confirmation voucher.

Expect dishes cooked in the volcanic soil of Furnas, pineapples grown in greenhouses, local cheeses and wines, liqueurs and fresh fish. The Ponta Delgada food tour and the dinners show how islanders eat at home, and the free evenings leave time to try other local restaurants.

No. The experiences are organized for you, so a car is not needed on those days. If you want to explore on your free days, a rental car can be added as an extra. Ask the Azores Getaways team for prices.

The Azores Getaways team selects a comfortable hotel on São Miguel, with options shown on the next step when you choose your dates. The package price depends on the accommodation selected.

Portugal and the Azores are consistently ranked among the safest destinations in Europe. US and Canadian passport holders do not currently need a visa for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period, and your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date. ETIAS is not yet mandatory; we will let you know in advance when it is. Entry rules can change, so please check the latest requirements before you travel.

The land portion of your package is refundable if cancelled at least 14 days before travel. Airfare is non-refundable once issued, so travel insurance with cancellation cover is strongly recommended. This summary does not replace the full terms and conditions of your booking. During your trip, the Azores Getaways team is available every day from 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM Eastern Time, and an emergency number is included in your voucher.
