About the Experience

Snorkelling is simple and accessible and can be practiced by anyone. As it is practiced in shallow waters, just relax and enjoy underwater life, without fear.

In Urzelina, associated with all this marine life, we will also have the opportunity to visit some caves and interesting recent geological formations.

The well-known bathing area, Portinhos, once a small fishing port, offers us a variety of caves, with one of them requiring some effort – diving, apnea, 1 meter – to be able to enter.

We also suggest a visit to Baía do Negro, in Manadas, where you can see some parts of the English ship “Irisky”, sunk off the coast in 1945.

With no fatalities, the ship was “cleaned” by the locals, with part of its structure remaining at the bottom, next to the coast, at 2 – 3 m deep.

You can still easily observe, with the help of a mask and fins, some pieces scattered across the bottom.

By boat, we will sail fom Velas, passing by Queimada and Urzelina, with unique views of the island from the sea, observing all the volcanic cavities and even visiting some caves.
