About the Experience

Itinerary:

1. Vila do Porto:

Starting our tour, we start with Vila do Porto and the São Brás Fort, a fortification built in the 17th century with the aim of protecting the island from the incursions of pirates and privateers.

We continue to the North Coast, in Lugar dos Anjos, where it stands out for its history and it was here that the first Portuguese disembarked. Highlights include the oldest chapel in the Azores, the statue of Christopher Columbus, its natural pools and its Blues festival, the oldest in Portugal.

2. Saint Peter:

Barreiro da Faneca, better known as the "red desert", a not-to-be-missed tourist spot, reveals one of the largest volcanic remains on the island.

The Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Fátima was the first chapel, after the Capelinha das Aparições in Cova da Iria, to be built under the invocation of Our Lady of Fátima outside the Diocese of Leiria.

3. Santa Bárbara:

Santa Barbara, with all its charm, rewards us with the Pico Alto mountain, where we can have a 360º view of the entire island.

Poço da Pedreira is one of the great tourist attractions on the island. An old deactivated area for the extraction of aggregates, it draws attention for its peculiar reddish color and the vertical formation of its walls.

São Lourenço and all its splendor, the most beautiful bay in Portugal with clear waters and white sand. Excellent place for those who like to enjoy a good beach.

4. Holy Spirit:

Santo Espírito, introduces us to the famous ear biscuits and its 19th century church. XVI with a splendid basalt stone facade in Manueline and Rococo style.

Not missing the place of Maia, ex. whaling port, and its brand image, the Gonçalo Velho Lighthouse and Cascata do Aveiro.

5. Almagreira:

To end our tour, we cannot leave behind the most famous beach in the Azores, Praia Formosa, with crystal clear waters and white sand, where the oldest band festival in Portugal, Festival Maré de Agosto, takes place every year.
