- Start your day with a visit to a traditional pineapple plantation, where you’ll learn about the unique greenhouse cultivation of this tropical fruit and sample pineapple liqueur.
- The journey continues along the island’s west coast to Pico do Carvão viewpoint, offering stunning views of São Miguel’s narrowest stretch and both its northern and southern shores. At Vista do Rei viewpoint, take in the breathtaking sight of the Sete Cidades volcanic complex, including the famous twin Blue and Green lakes. Discover the peaceful Santiago Lake on the crater rim before heading to the charming village of Sete Cidades. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, showcasing regional flavors.
- The afternoon takes you along the western coast to Capelas, a former whaling village, where Pedras Negras viewpoint offers stunning views of the northern coastline.
- Next, visit Ribeira Grande’s historic center and stop at the Regional Liquor Factory to taste some of the island’s famous liqueurs. An optional stop at Caldeira Velha offers the chance to relax in warm, waterfall-fed pools surrounded by lush greenery. The last stop will be to look over the gorgeous Lagoa do Fogo.

- Day 10Furnas Full-Day Tour (Included)

9 AM to 5 PM
- The tour begins in Vila Franca do Campo, São Miguel’s first capital, where you can taste the famous Queijada da Vila pastry.
- In Furnas Valley, visit the lake, see volcanic fumaroles, and witness the unique preparation of Furnas Stew cooked underground. After lunch, explore Caldeiras’ hot springs or take an optional visit to Terra Nostra Garden.
- Next, enjoy panoramic views from Pico do Ferro viewpoint, followed by a visit to the Gorreana tea plantation to sample fresh black and green teas. The final stop is Santa Iria viewpoint, offering stunning views of the north coast.
Price includes: Transportation to and from the hotel (Ponta Delgada area), official guide/driver, meal (“Furnas Stew” with drinks, dessert, and coffee. Optional meal is available on request. ), and entrance to Furnas Lake.
