The Azores Getaways Terceira Premium Package includes round-trip flights, 6 nights at the Azores Book Hotel in central Angra do Heroísmo, daily breakfast, a rental car for the full duration of your stay, complimentary hotel parking, VIP perks on arrival, and all taxes and fees related to the booking. Guided tours, additional meals, and city taxes are not included. Airport transfers are not included. The rental car is collected at Lajes Airport on arrival.

The Azores Book Hotel is a literary-inspired boutique hotel in the heart of Angra do Heroísmo, a UNESCO World Heritage city, positioned steps from the cobblestone streets, historic churches, and local restaurants of the old town. Complimentary parking is included. The hotel combines authentic Azorean character with modern comfort. 

The package includes a set of VIP perks at the Azores Book Hotel, arranged by the Azores Getaways team before your arrival. On check-in you will find a fresh local fruit basket and a traditional Queijada da Dona Amélia, the iconic Terceira pastry made from honey, almonds, and cinnamon that has been produced on the island since 1927. You also receive a 10% discount on all spa treatments during your stay. A complimentary upgrade to a superior room is included subject to availability at the time of check-in. The upgrade cannot be guaranteed but the team will request it on your behalf. 

Time-limited perks.

São Miguel has the crater lakes and the thermal springs. Terceira has something different. Angra do Heroísmo is a living UNESCO World Heritage city with 500 years of Atlantic history in its streets. The Algar do Carvão is a volcanic cave formed 3,200 years ago that you can descend 90 meters into on foot. The impérios, colorful religious brotherhood chapels found in every village on the island, are unique to Terceira and have no equivalent anywhere else in the Azores. The pace is slower than São Miguel and the island feels less discovered.

A rental car is included for all 6 nights. The standard vehicle is a compact manual car. Automatic transmission is available on request at an additional cost. You will need a valid Canadian or US passport and driver's license at pickup. The car is collected at Lajes Airport on arrival and returned there on departure day. There are no toll roads in the Azores. All roads on Terceira are free to use. Parking at the hotel is included.

The rental includes basic third-party liability insurance, and depending on the car rental company, a collision damage waiver (CDW) may already be included. Even with CDW, most rentals have a mandatory excess. We always recommend upgrading to the highest insurance level available. This can be arranged through the Azores Getaways team when booking with an agent, or directly with the rental company at pickup.

Yes, round-trip flights are included. The package price varies depending on your departure airport. Other departure cities are available on request. Contact the Azores Getaways team before booking to discuss departure options. Checked luggage is not always included and depends on the airline and fare type. You can confirm what is included and add luggage during the booking process. Seat selection and cabin class upgrades can be arranged as paid add-ons, subject to availability.

Yes, daily breakfast is included at the Azores Book Hotel throughout your stay. All other meals are at your own expense. Terceira has an excellent food culture worth exploring independently. Try alcatra, a beef stew slow-cooked in a clay pot that is specific to Terceira, queijo da Ilha cheese from local dairy farms, and fresh seafood along the coast. 

No. City taxes are not included and are paid directly at the hotel on arrival or checkout.

No. All activities listed in the day-by-day itinerary are optional and at additional cost. Popular add-ons include the Best of Terceira Volcano Experience van tour with entry to Algar do Carvão, boat trips to the Cabras Islets, canyoning, dairy farm visits, and spa treatments at the hotel. Tours can be added during the booking process or by contacting the Azores Getaways team directly.

If you are travelling solo, the package price is based on two travelers sharing a room and a single supplement applies. You can check solo pricing by changing the number of guests from 2 to 1 in the booking calendar before clicking See Dates and Prices.

Terceira is part of Portugal, consistently ranked as one of the safest countries in Europe for travelers, with no active conflicts and not affected by the current conflicts in Europe or elsewhere. Canadian and US passport holders do not currently need a visa for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS, a pre-travel authorization for Schengen Area travel, is not yet mandatory. When it launches, we will contact you in advance. 

The land portion of your package is refundable if cancelled at least 14 days before your travel date. Airfare is non-refundable from the moment it is issued, but the Azores Getaways team will always check with the airline to explore options. Travel insurance with cancellation cover is strongly recommended. This summary does not replace the full terms and conditions of your booking.
