Porto, Lisbon & The Azores: Highlights Tour

9 AM to 5 PM: Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Cascais Small-Group Day Tour with hotel pick-up and drop off included.

A local guide picks you up at your Lisbon hotel in a small air-conditioned van with no more than 8 passengers. The first stop is Pena Palace, the 19th-century royal summer palace in the Sintra hills. Then comes the historic center of Sintra, where you have lunch and can try the local pastries, travesseiros and queijadas.

In the afternoon you go to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, then Guincho beach and Boca do Inferno. The last stop is Cascais, the old fishing village where Europe’s royalty once lived. You drive back to Lisbon along the coast, past Estoril.

Your package includes a transfer from your hotel to the train station in Lisbon and from the train station to your hotel upon arrival in Porto.

9 AM - 6 PM: Douro Valley Wine Tour: Three Vineyards and Lunch at a Winery with hotel pick-up and drop off-included.

Port wine can only be made in the Douro Valley, the world’s first demarcated wine region and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On this day tour you follow the winding roads through the terraced hills, visit three vineyards and taste Port and Douro DOC wines where they’re made. Portugal Getaways adds it to your stay in the north of Portugal.

This private day tour takes you to two cities in central Portugal. Coimbra is a UNESCO World Heritage city with one of Europe’s oldest universities. Aveiro is a town of canals and colorful boats, often called the “Venice of Portugal”. Your own guide drives you in a Mercedes van, with Wi-Fi and bottled water on board, and Portugal Getaways arranges the pick-up for you.
