The lush greenery leads us to Vista do Rei's viewpoint, offering a stunning view over the Sete Cidades volcanic complex and its twin lakes—Blue and Green.
Continue through the crater to Santiago’s Lake, then make a stop in the charming town of Sete Cidades, where you'll enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, journey along the coast, appreciating the western landscape until we reach Capelas, an ancient whaling village. Here, we’ll stop at Pedras Negras's viewpoint for views of the northern coast.
Next, head to Ribeira Grande and its historic center, with the option to visit the Regional Liquor Factory for a tasting of local spirits.
If you're up for it, enjoy a relaxing dip in the warm waters of the Caldeira Velha nature reserve (optional), followed by a visit to Lagoa do Fogo, offering breathtaking views over the island's most famous crater lake.
On the way back to Ponta Delgada, you’ll pass Pico da Barrosa, where the island’s newest landscapes are revealed once more.
