About the Experience

Join us for a circular route during Sintra Historic Hike up the hills through the forest. We will pass by the inspiring house that hosted Hans Christian Andersen during the 19th century and hike up the Serra to the Moorish Castle. We will get lost in Pena Palace Park which is over 200 hectares and will lead you to our favorite spots. The high cross is one of them and will give you a wonderful 360º view of the whole Serra and Atlantic coastline.

We will also visit Pena Palace, which history started in the Middle Ages and became the symbol of Romanticism after King Ferdinand II rebuilt it the middle of the 19th century. We will go back to Sintra through Villa Sasseti and will have some time to wander through its tiny streets.

Our guide will tell you everything about the history of Sintra, castles, and palaces and make sure you enjoy the whole experience.

Kids are welcome, they will love the woods and the Disney-like palace. The trail is moderate and 9km long.
