Inovtravel agency brands have been monitoring the developments of the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak, and have been following the recommendations issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National and Regional Directorate of Health.
Currently, there are no travel bans in place in Portugal or the autonomous regions of the Azores and Madeira. However, other countries and cities across the globe have issued warnings. Travelers can utilize simple preventative measures such as:
- Sanitize your hands with disinfectant or wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after sneezing or coughing.
- Cover your nose and mouth with a flexed elbow or paper tissue when coughing or sneezing and immediately dispose of the tissue.
- Refrain from touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- In case of fever or general malaise, travelers should consult a doctor before starting the trip. It is prudent for travelers who are sick to delay or avoid travel to affected areas, in particular for elderly travelers and people with chronic diseases or underlying health conditions.
