Some golf trips are about ticking off rounds. This one is about having the time to enjoy them.
São Miguel Island Golf Week with Direct Flights is designed for golfers who like to play at a comfortable rhythm, appreciate variety, and enjoy returning from the course to genuine comfort rather than rushing on to the next tee.
The experience includes five rounds of golf shared between Batalha Golf Course and Furnas Golf Course, two courses that could not feel more different. Batalha plays open to the Atlantic, where wind and light shape every round and good decisions matter. Furnas, set in a volcanic valley, is quieter and more contained, a course where time and accuracy take over. With a 5-Round Golf Pass and a rental car included, rounds can be spaced out naturally, leaving room for rest days, short drives, and unplanned stops along the way.

- Day 2Batalha Golf Course (Included)

From 10 AM to 4 PM
Located on the north coast of São Miguel Island, just a 10-minute drive from the centre of Ponta Delgada, Batalha Golf Course offers a spacious and varied golfing experience set against the Atlantic Ocean. Built on volcanic terrain and integrated naturally into the Azorean landscape, the course combines open horizons with a strong sense of place and history.
Designed by Cameron & Powell, Batalha is a 27-hole golf complex formed by three distinct 9-hole courses, each with a par of 36. These can be played in different combinations, creating several 18-hole, par-72 layouts and offering variety throughout a stay. Considered one of the longest courses in Portugal, Batalha features wide, forgiving fairways and well-maintained greens, allowing for an enjoyable yet engaging round.
The course blends elements of links and woodland golf, with gently undulating terrain and frequent panoramic views over the Atlantic. Changing coastal conditions add interest to the game, and on clear days, golfers may even spot whales, dolphins, or porpoises offshore — a rare and memorable setting for a round of golf.
One of the most striking moments on the course is hole 15, where the elevated tee offers a dramatic perspective over the surrounding landscape and coastline.
Beyond golf, the area carries historical significance, having been the site of a 19th-century battle between liberal and absolutist forces, adding depth and character to the experience.

From 10 AM to 4 PM
Located in one of the most scenic areas of São Miguel Island, Furnas Golf Course offers a distinctive golfing experience set within the island’s volcanic heart, just a 25-minute drive from Ponta Delgada. The course lies near Lagoa das Furnas, a natural landmark renowned for its geothermal activity, hot springs, and tranquil surroundings.
The layout unfolds across the Furnas Valley, an area shaped by volcanic origins and defined by lush vegetation, mineral waters, and a mild climate that allows golf to be played comfortably throughout the year. The atmosphere is calm and immersive, with the landscape playing an integral role in the overall experience.
Originally designed by Mackenzie Ross and opened in 1936, Furnas is the oldest golf course in the Azores. In 1992, the course was expanded to 18 holes under the supervision of Cameron & Powell, creating a par-72 championship layout that blends classic design with the island’s natural contours.
Set among majestic Japanese cedars, the course features gently undulating fairways, subtly elevated plateau greens, and carefully placed bunkers filled with volcanic lava sand and pebbles. While the terrain is only slightly hilly, the course demands accuracy, finesse, and thoughtful shot selection. Its playing characteristics are often compared to traditional Scottish parkland courses.
